Bill and John is the amalgamation of passion, experience and vision of two people who have worked in hospitality from a very young age. The founders of the company, Vassilis Vassiliadis and John Velonias, are cousins and both come from families with a long standing tradition in the tourism sector. So naturally, they decided to integrate their valuable knowledge and love for hospitality into a great initiative.

The Inspiration

The company was inspired when the founders saw a significant gap in the short-term rental market in Athens. Bill and John found that many apartments and villas in the short term rental sector did not meet the high standards of quality and hospitality offered by 5-star hotels. So, they decided to bring this element of 5 star quality to the short term accommodation, offering services that combine the luxury of large hotels with warmth and personal service.

The Biggest Challenges

The biggest challenge for Bill and John was none other than the young age of its founders, when they launched in 2017. Initially, partners and owners were concious of their ability to deliver the high-quality service they promised. However, with their hard work and dedication, they were able to build trusting relationships and prove their worth. Their success is evident, as they have retained 99% of their partners and owners since the beginning of the company.

The First Property

The first property they ever managed as Bill and John was the Acropolis Exclusive Residence in Athens in 2017. From the very beginning, they recognized the value and potential of this property. Then, in 2020, they expanded into the hotel sector with Urban Stripes Athens.

When starting out, Bill and John focused more on apartments and villas, however they later realized that their expertise and their approach could work just as easily for hotels too, leading them to implement the same approach to all accommodation, regardless of the size of the establishment. 
Bill and John’s vision is to continue to offer exceptional quality service, while expanding the number of their properties, as well as potentially expanding to international markets.

The Vision and the Distinctive Approach

Today the company has a portfolio of more than 270 properties on the Greek islands, the mainland, the Athenian Riviera and the heart of Athens. It consists of a team of 35 people and maintains the highest rating on all platforms. What makes Bill and John stand out is thei hands on approach, their expertise deriving from years of experience and their friendly and always on communication.
